DESCRIPTION

Tiedoli landfill is 479 a.s.l. and it was open in 1980 as a small deposit of urban waste. Later, due to population growth, the site became a great deposit of solid urban waste. This place has historical movements, characterized by a constant and low displacement. A lot of manual inclinometers were broken and replaced due to huge movements. In 2012 Comunità Montana delle Valli del Taro e del Ceno decided to install Tilt Array automatic inclinometer. The system permits a real time monitoring.

The site has been instrumented with an inclinometer chain 35.5 m long, composed by 60 nodes at a variable distanced (0.5 ÷ 1 m).

Control unit queries nodes at defined time intervals and saves them into a SD card. Originally, data were transmitted with UMTS connection to the elaboration centre. Then a technician manually sent them once a month to ASE factory.
