DESCRIPTION

Pile Test was a research project aimed to test and compare traditional and innovative instrumentations.

The aim of the monitoring was the control of deformations induced by the construction of a concrete wall and the consequent excavation phase.

A Vertical Array MUMS system monitored the site for one month and during the day of the excavation. Results were compared with values provided by traditional inclinometer and another innovative device.

This test gave the possibility to study strengths and weaknesses of the instrumentation, providing interesting suggestions for the research and development activities.
